Task Hierarchy Formation

What it is

Task hierarchy is a structure that allows you to break large tasks into smaller ones.

In Deepleex, tasks can consist of subtasks, forming a work breakdown tree.

The structure looks like this:

Team → Task → Subtask → Next-level subtask

This enables you to structure projects and manage complex work effectively.

What is it for

Hierarchy is used to:

  • Break large tasks into smaller, manageable parts

  • Structure the project

  • Make task navigation convenient

  • Control progress and execution

Each level of the hierarchy can contain its own subtasks.

How it works

  1. Go to the Tasks section.
  2. Click the Create task button.

    Create the main (parent) task

Task Hierarchy 1

1. Enter the task name

2. Click Add it.

After creation, the task will appear in the general list.

Task Hierarchy 2

Click on the task name in the list.

Open the task (double click, or right click on task – add subtask

This opens the list of subtasks for that task.

  1. Create a subtask

  2. Inside the task, click the Add button.
Task Hierarchy 2

reate a subtask

  1. Inside the task, click the Add button.

1. Here we can see we’re inside the parent task “New Task”.

2. We also created a subtask “New Task 2”

Task Hierarchy 3

Add deeper levels

Every subtask can also contain its own subtasks.

To do this:

  • Open the desired subtask

  • Click Add

  • Create the next subtask

This way you build the full task tree.

Use hierarchy navigation At the top of the page you will see breadcrumbs. They show your current path in the task
hierarchy.

Example: Teams → Deepleex.AI → Development → Web Application → User Authentication

You can click any link in the breadcrumbs to quickly jump to that level of the structure.

Task Hierarchy 4

What we get as a result

A well-structured task system where:

  • Large tasks are broken down into subtasks

  • You can easily navigate through project levels

  • Every task has a clear and understandable place in the overall work hierarchy
